As the City of Lakes and Parks, Victoria is the caretaker of 12 lakes, 32 active and passive parks, 33 miles of trails, and more than 400 acres of reserved land. Since 1970, the population of Victoria has increased by nearly 1,000%. It will continue to grow over 40% in the next 20 years based on anticipated residential development outlined in the City of Victoria’s Comprehensive Plan required by the Metropolitan Land Planning Act.
